T. Delores Dunn

T. Delores Wallace-Dunn has served as the CEO/President of Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) since 1990. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work, from Tuskegee University, and holds a Masters’ Degree from Biscayne College/St. Thomas University. She has spent over thirty years developing and managing programs and services for vulnerable families and children; specifically in the areas of mental health, child welfare, delinquency, homelessness; and family dysfunction. During her tenure as its leader, the CFCE has grown from a grassroots organization which in 1990 had twenty-five employees and a budget of $500,000, to a major community-based organization with over 240 employees and annual revenues exceeding $15 million dollars serving over 5,000 individuals each year. She has led the Center in becoming nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Family and Children’s Services (COA) and reaccreditation every four years through a rigorous process in which all components of the Agency are independently evaluated and rated. Articles and interviews regarding Ms. Dunn’s work have appeared in the CWLA magazine, Children’s Voice (circa 2009); The Miami Times and other local publications.

She has received numerous honors and accolades for her work with children and families in Miami-Dade County. In 2010, she was bestowed the prestigious honor of being named to the Juvenile Court Wall of Honor based upon her long career in service to children in Miami-Dade. In 2011, she was honored by the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce for her work in building the Center for Family and Child Enrichment to its current status as a major nonprofit organization in Miami-Dade County. She was selected by Legacy Miami Magazine as one of “South Florida’s 50 Most Powerful and Influential Black Professionals in Business and Industry for 2015.

Prior to joining the Center for Family and Child Enrichment as its Executive Director, Ms. Dunn served in s number of positions focused upon helping children reach their full potential, including as co-founder and administrative director of the Academy for Community Education, and as Director of Miami Women and Children’s Shelter. She also led a community-based delinquency program through Florida International University.
