Mykita Chery Prime

Miami Dade County Public Schools Educator and Miami Gardens Resident

Mykita Cherry-Prime was born and raised in the city that is now Miami Gardens. She believes family is to be preserved and cherish through conserving the mantra “It takes a village to raise a child.”

As the Chair of the Progressive Young Adults Advisory Committee, she assists and advises the City of Miami Gardens Council members on issues that affect young adults and ensures the provision of services and support for young adults through policy and social engagements opportunities.

She is a member of the BLAST ministry at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Miami Gardens. Where serving the community is an honor from the most high through stewardship, love and faith.

She is an Educator with the Miami-Dade County Public School system who possesses love and passion for teaching young people. Graduate from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) with a Bachelor of Science-Psychology degree. A mentor for President Barack Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative and Miami Job Corp, where she motivates, stimulates and education young people on how to reach their full potential. Awarded

Mrs. Cherry-Prime owns and operates an Administrative and Property Management firm. She is the president of the Urban Peace Project, Member of the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) Alumni Chapter.

She is happily married to Pierre Prime and they have four sons, whom she is proud to be raising in the beautiful city of Miami Gardens.
